Lady Gaga by casparofambrose
I can't estimate how long this took as I lost my flow at some point and ended up dragging this like a ball and chain for months until it was done. The hair was intense and I never quite figured it out unfortunately. Got a bit sloppy. The entire thing ended up being rather tricky (odd lighting this reference had!) and I don't really know what to think of it yet. I definitely learned a lot here, however.
This is mostly #2 pencil but for touches of 6B pencil here and there. The background has a light layer of grey prismacolor.
How you got those chains to look so good?
the hair is brilliant, well impressed with that
This lips on this are really striking. They're beautifully rendered. : )
Hope all is well <3
Personally I think it's one of your best and that's taking absolutely nothing away from any of your previous pieces.
The way this portrait is lit was one of the things that first struck me; the light source seeming to come from above. It casts shadows you are not used to seeing in monotone portraits and it's one of the things that makes it so compelling to look at.
I am in awe of your skill.
Thanks for the positive feedback about my ... er... feedback. Crazy Days
